I know, I know.
First, and blunt: I have had to take time off due to some lingering issues. I had to address these before I could feel like I could somewhat move on.
Running as you all know puts a strain on everything.
There were many projects around my house that never got done, and would never get done had I not taken some time off.
Am I done with everything? –No!
I have had to take a step back and see what needed to be prioritized and resolved.
Here re some critical steps I have learned.
First step: Eliminate the clutter. –If it is trash, throw it out.
Second step: Eliminate “The Whine Shop”. –No, I haven’t been hittin the booze. Keep reading.
Third Step: Eliminate the need for complexity. –Nothing in life needs to be complex.
Forth Step: Do it yourself. –Cause no one is going to do it for you.
Seems the second step is a little harsh when I explain, but it is true. I needed stop worrying about other people and focus on myself and what goes on in my circle.
Annoying people seem to be everywhere. Eliminate them! They will only drag you down. If you can’t seem to dump them, keep them at arm’s length.
Taking time off made it worse since I was not receiving near daily hits from my "Runner Drug". I can tell you, that this runner's high is real, and seems to be like any other "feel good "drug when you come off of it. I was extremely irritable , and felt horrible for days at a time.
I debated on when I would pick it back up and seems like this past weekend was a good weekend to do so.
I wanted to use the Mohican 100 as a jumping off point to continue my training for Ultras and Marathon's.
I felt really uninspired by everything and needed a boost. Mohican seemed to help.
I worked the Landoll’s Castle Aid Station from 5:00PM Saturday to 9:30AM Sunday. I had a blast with Charlie and all the other people/runners I met.
A lot of them inspired me as always.
I am simply getting back to the basics and train for not only running, but life in general.
